Rating System
Our rating system is based on the previous system of the Alberta Music Festival Association. Each entry/performance will be awarded one of the ratings below. The Adjudicator will grant a mark, however, ONLY the rating will be listed on the adjudication form.
90 – 100%
Performance showcases an exceptional level of technical skill, demonstrating outstanding mastery of artistic interpretation. The participant not only shares a captivating performance but one that is deeply expressive with flair!
86 – 89%
Performance exhibits a high level of technical proficiency, demonstrating a strong understanding of musical elements and creativity. The participant communicates the piece effectively with their own style.
83 – 85%
Performance displays a command of the discipline with some precision and control. The participant shows beginnings of incorporating expressive elements. A good performance with room for improvement!
80 – 82%
A satisfactory performance demonstrating a basic understanding of technique and basic musical concepts. The participant shows a limited understanding of the piece, with minimal expressive elements.
